Paul Hickey could not make it this year, so I played doubles with Nigel again.
The D-doubles was Round Robin and our first match was against well knows Rafael & Giraldo:
Nigel and I didn't play well at all, especially in the first set, but in all fairness (Myk), the Spanish guys were better. Well, no wonder, as they are partners in real life too!
Score was 2-6, 3-6.
First singles match was the Quarter Final, as I had a bye in Round 1. Guess who I was up against: Giraldo.
I really let myself down and had no chance against him. I played aweful..... I lost 2-6, 0-6.
So, trying my luck in the Consolation again, just like last year. I played against Irish guy Eugene and it was a great tight match.
I lost 7-8, unlucky.
Our second doubles match was against Irish guys Eugene (again) and Seamus.
We played quite well, but lost 4-6, 3-6 on a cold and windy outdoor court.
Our last doubles match was against Jacob and Joan. I played doubles against them in Prague and I won. Would there finally be some success for me in this tournament?
It was a great match and we scored some awesome points, and we won 7-6, 3-6 and 10-7 in the champions tie-break which replaced the 3rd set.
