Dusseldorf April 2008 part 1

Dusseldorf was the first tournament I was a seeded player: nr 3 in the D singles:

Surprise: Nel and Vincent, my aunt and uncle came to watch me playing.
Vincent was so kind to take pictures and videos of me playing.




First singles match, against Thomas Heuer, from Basel. He is also my doubles' partner!









I played well and I won.

Dusseldorf April 2008 part 2

My doubles partner is Thomas Heuer. We played against the nr 2 seeds Troy and Martin, who live in Belgium. The match started at 19:30, and we could only play 1 set, which we lost 2-6.

My uncle shot a few videos of me serving, as he said my serve was "extraordinary".

Dusseldorf April 2008 part 3

My semi-final match was against nr 1 seed Ximo Peres, who was simply too good for everyone in D. The match started at 08:00, hence the warm clothing.




This is Ximo, Spanish clay specialist.






Not a bad result at all, and I did break his serve.




A well deserved rest after the match, because later that day we had to finish our doubles' match.

Dusseldorf April 2008 part 4

The second set of our doubles' match was played the next day, because darkness set in. We lost, but only afer a tie-break.






I made a new Dutch friend: Godelinde.





Here is Lies again. My brother Wilbert is sitting in the corner. He came to Dusseldorf on Sunday, but unfortunately I was not playing.
